CAES ANTIOCH COL / S R Gordian III, on the left, standing right on pedestal, holding small figure of Genius and clasping hands with Genius, on the right, standing left on pedestal, holding scepter in his left hand; betweem them, altar; on the pedestals, S and R. SNG Paris 1202-3. Good very fine.

Interesting and often overlooked details on this issue include the small letters S and R on the pedestals. These mirror the large S R in the exergue and stand for Senatus Romanus, attesting some form of control of the coinage of Antiochia Pisidiae by the Roman Senate
